Frequent disinfecting using chemicals and wipes isn't always practical in terms of time and cost, especially in high traffic areas.
The UVS-1 fills the gap when frequent sterilization is needed, but time or cost make it impractical. The UVS-1 is designed to be passed over surfaces to effectively kill germs, viruses, algae and mold as it passes over by rendering them incapable of reproducing. The UVS-1 surface sterilizer takes only seconds and uses no chemicals, only proven germicidal UV light. The UVS-1 provides and intensive germicidal UV sterilization effect that effectively kills micro-organisms, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and yeasts by rendering them incapable of reproducing.
This is very useful for sterilizing such things as countertops, desks, tables, and more. It only takes a few seconds to sterilize the surface. The time required depends on the germs, viruses, algae and mold you're sterilizing as shown in the following Sterilization Chart.
For example, the UVS-1's 18 watt germicidal UV bulb outputs a powerful 3,700 uW of UV-C light energy at the surface to be sterilized. This means that if it takes a dosage of 6,600uW to effectively eliminate Influenza, then it will take about 1 3/4 seconds of exposure time with the UVS-1 to sterilize the influenza virus.
The UVS-1 is cordless, and can be plugged into it's quick charger after use. Typical use allows the UVS-1 to operate for a full day without recharging. The built-in fast charger charges the batteries in 1 hour, then switches to trickle charge to maintain full charge.
